I'm not going to turn this forum into a Halo trailer conspiracy thread, but just background info on Chief. In the books he was a larger then average kid with red hair and freckles.

It is Kelly and MC in the video as kids. The Spartans were taken at a very young age, around two, to be trained as soldiers. Kelly is the best sniper of the 300 some Spartans.

The entire Halo series is based off of Marathon, a trilogy that Bungie made in 1994. The plots are a dead match save some minor differences. Flood, Cove, Elites, Guilty Spark (known as a dormant AI instead of a glowing ball), the superweapon (Halo) - all there. Bungie made it open source awhile back. Awesome FPS if you have some time.

Incorrect. Linda was the best sniper. Kelly was the fastest. John was the Luckiest.

It's pretty good. I have been going though Marathon recently, just started the third game. Ah soo good.

No way of telling wich other spartan that is, or even if it's a young Spartan. That could be him on his home planet before he entered the Spartan program.
Maybe the MC is starting to remember everything before he met Dr. Halsey, maybe he doesn't want to fight, maybe he's a hippy.

I believe it's actually Linda in the movie, but that's just my opinion. She just seems to be closer to the MC then Kelly.

Strange, I always thought kelly seemed closer. Esspecially after the first challenge they did as a team with john, sam, and kelly.
