Text of the 13th Amendment
Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation. ------- So clearly slavery is allowed in prison. Just in case anyone had any mistake about this subject.

Really if prisoners want to do work it should be something no one else wants to do. Not like making parts for missiles. |

Doesn't surprise me. But you'll never hear me say its right. Also, most people who say "So?" are either sheltered or self richeous. They would also squeal like a child if ever convicted because they think they are untouchable. Sorry kids, but humans are humans, no matter what their crime. Almost everyone deserves a second chance, but we have a history of apathy/sweeping problems under the rug here in America. So nothing will change in the end. And no one deserves to be forced into slavery. Last edited by RawketLawnchair; 2012-05-22 at 06:17 AM. |

Sorry, but as soon as you take the life of another person in cold blood, you just lost all your rights as a human being. Let them live in hell for the rest of their lives, before they actually go to hell...or give them the death penalty.
That said, I do believe that private prisons should be shut down, and the prisons that replace them offer proper rehabilitation to the prisoners. Hell, I'd even offer educational services in a prison, so that they can pursue a proper career once they leave.

I agree, they shouldn't have it nice, but I do think they should be able to rejoin the work force once they get out instead of this damn cycle that private prisons are perpetuating.
