Verge Interview with Higby

The Verge has up a new video interview with Matt Higby. In the video Matt talks quite a bit about the cash shop and what will be available for purchase as well as what is only available in game.

We spoke with Matthew Higby, the creative director of Planetside 2, to learn what sort of steps Sony Online Entertainment is taking to make sure Planetside 2 doesn't falter when it comes to reaching a broader audience while still offering a hardcore shooter experience. The main takeaway: If you're unwilling to pay a cent, you still stand a pretty good chance of besting a paying player.

You can check out the video over on The Verge.

The interview has a kind of movie promotion polish to it i like it.

And speaking as some one that spent years training groups of people i didn't initially know i can say that speaking about something you are passionate about to groups of people that don't know anything about it is nerve racking as you want them to be as passionate as you. This will be when you repeat words a lot or develop ticks and its half the job to identify and keep on top of them whilst you make a presentation or respond to questions. My pet peeves having observed somes less than good people are the words OK and Basically.

All the time trying not to incur the wrath of the PR people, i think higby interviews really really well.

Most people would be up all night with nerves and be really withdrawn having to speak publicly or be quizzed all day

Actually Lie to Me a lot of that is true, but subjective its not black and white. Touching your face doesn't mean you're lying it means you're nervous which is normal for someone who isn't used to being in front of a camera.

Actors who put on Oscar winning performances cringe at themselves on screen. That interview was badass, loads of information in a tightly packed neat video.

I love to speak publicly, but I would hate to have to watch a film of me doing it.

Body language wise it sends the message that you are anxious/nervous and uncertain. While touching your nose or lips can indicate that you are not being honest, but I didn't see you do that so you are good to go.

The interview had mostly info that was already said the previous ones. I do notice Highby saying there are no other games like that but I find WWII online, even though graphics wise not the highest standard, to have the same mechanics and ideas. They have classes, you fight for towns/bases and you have tanks/airplanes/infantry and ships fighting at the same time.

But alas it is not F2P so it is in a different segment. And Higby probably blinks a lot because he is outside

I think the lack of beard is missus related.

What he needs to do is to shave a bit of hair off Qiu, dye it and then stick it to some sort of sellotape/beard frame arrangement.
Then he can don it for interviews and photo's, and take it off again for going home.
Sorted.
