Comparing Empires to Real LIfe

Just a Bit of a fun thread but can you think of any of the empires that can compare with real life? E.G Flim, Country's, Games, Items?

I was playing Red Alert 3 early today and i can kinda compare;

NC: Allies
TR: Russia
VS: Japan

Also

NC: Pirates
TR: The British Empire
VS: Spain

NC: Smurfs
TR: Elmo
VS: Barney

TR is North Korea. Purposefully repressive to main relative peace and order, though the TR personality cult dissolved when the leader died, so its more like futuristic North Korea I guess.

NC is Revolutionary America. They are fighting their oppressors for freedom to be ruled by a system of money.

VS is something we've yet to see on Earth. Honestly VS government structure hasn't been touched on very well... but it isn't a theocracy, or a system of capitalism, or a continuation of distorted communism.

Dunno if this is the right section for this topic tho.
