Do game "journolisks" have a batman like hotline to PR companies or something as a few of them are going to fanfaire now. Mostly just MMO people though, they wouldn't go if there wasn't something to 'talk about'.

I guess massively and other such sites would always cover it but I don't think Gamebreaker has before - two of them are going apparently (mentioned it on thier livestream).

They are probably just assuming what we are but I thought maybe there is a red phone that smed calls to round up a group of news posters and commenters lol.

If anything when i realized e3 was a no show for PS2 it was purposely done so for the FanFaire so they get attendance!

I fear we won't get as much news as you guys are hoping for. "We are officially working on a sequel to Planetside ... it'll be called Planetside 2" ... "It's a massiv multiplayer online first person shooter, which means hundreds of players on the same map" ... "Here are some renders of vehicles and aircrafts" ...

"Will it have elves?", will be the audience's response.

But I have no problem to be proven wrong. More info is definitely welcome ... after all, that's the reason why I visit this forum.

I have decided to go to Fan Faire due to this recent announcement. Is anyone else going?

I would also not be opposed to doing a live feed/tweet session during anything Planetside related, if Hamma would like.

I think PS was only just recently was added to the Fanfair, it still isn't included on their Schedule anywhere, the official Fanfair site still just says "Planetside", AND the only info about PS at the Fanfair so far is a single fuckin tweet. Almost every other game is advertising multiple events or tournaments during the show, all these bonuses for signing up, and actually getting publicity.

I foresee a standard SOE letdown

Well, I've been saying it on the forums since E3. I was really hoping SOE was going to warn us that there was going to be no announcement at Fan Faire.

Boy am I glad I was wrong. Frankly, even if it is an extremely minor announcement, at this point, I'm just excited to hear ANYTHING.

*keeps fingers crossed for Holiday 2011 release*

P.S. Did Smed not get the memo that it's Planetside 2 now? Or does Planetside Next not translate well to chinese so it's just PS2 for them?

I did some research (asking some delivery guy that looked asian or maybe he was just squinting) and appearantly "Planetside Next" is loosely translated to "forever the duke of nukes". I don't know how accurate that is though.
