Re: TRay Tweet - the BBQ Rifle!

I like the first a lot, but would prefer it with a tilted canister as seen in #2 and #4. I prefer the first because the barrel and the foregrip have that "function over form" sensibility that really speaks to my NC side. #'s 3 and 4, in particular, seem too well integrated, with molded casings fail to give me the sense that this is some kind of field modification put into mass production, but rather a design that was engineered from the drawing board up that simply uses standard parts for the trigger, grip, and stock.

3 for me, makes most sense... more streamlined, canister is out of the way, and lower profile. Flame sits a bit out from the barrel tip, and the flames naturally flicker up, instead of forced down. 3 has a more streamlined, efficient looking, safer for user, design for the application.

#1, #2 and #4 look good from that perspective, though #1 looks a bit bland.
They all look way too much like normal rifles, but at least the third one most clearly has the little thing under it where the flame comes from (I know nothing about flamethrowers so this is totally in laymen's terms ), like this;

all the variants have this little igniter torch. but you are right, that they all look a little too gaussy.

NC weapons should look bulky square and makeshift. 2 all the way, for bare basics.

Leave the cool slinky silhouette's for TR and VS, who need to look sci fi or chique.

Also, i would prefer Flamethrowers as a underslung weapon on a rifle, i think when you get away from bullet on bullet game play indoors, things get a whole lot more difficult to balance.

Having a limited ammo Flamer, like BF3's shotgun, sounds best to me.

Mainly because it had a 5 minute timer. Doubt we'll see that here.

Yep, everyone will have flamethrowers.

They will be shot at a distance by people with rifles, but that doesn't matter because....flamethrower...!

Perhaps, perhaps not. I'm not sure if that truely explains why I only ever saw the flamethrower twice during my so far short Planetside career 2010-2012.

Anyways, also have to remember that base designs are a lot less claustrophobic now. IIRC, they said they have move almost entirely away from the corridor-room-corridor crap PS had.

I would see multiple flamethrowers per tower fight. One alone was too many.

I felt the same way about Jackhammers...and Lashers.

Mini-chainguns too.

Well those have to be aimed to be effective. You can flail around with a flamethrower and get kills.
