AWESOME!! with its lower profile design it will be harder to hit with ground weapons, but the longer body will be easier to hit from the air.

I agree, the lightning is supposed to be the light tank where the vanguard/whatever else is supposed to be the heavier version.

It looks pretty large (or long I suppose) compared to the Sunderer, which I always thought was a massive hulking truck (As it should be).

Awesome that you guys decided to call the AA turret the "Skyguard turret", the sky guard will be with the game in spirit!

Sure but when you're using the massive roof-mounted cannon to clear traffic during rush hour, the back seat steering is an acceptable trade-off :D

Yeah it's hard to tell how close they are, but I'd estimate that Sunderer is about 6-7 meters away and probably slightly longer than the Lightning.

The vanu helmet definitely looks 100x better. I think the armor is looking epic because it is wayyyy shinier in the real world render than it was in the heavy week render. The grey actually looks more chrome in those shots.

The lighting does look a bit too long, and compared to the original it did loose a lot of it's curves. It is an overall nice design, but a bit too close to the vangaurd for my taste.

I like the look of it a lot and I think that seeing as lightning is perhaps going to be a bit faster than other tanks it makes sense in that way for it to have a long and low profile. Only slightly negative thing I can think of is that it does look quite a bit like the Vangard – although as long as it’s a tank it’s always going to look similar to other tanks anyway.

Also the PSU media library is missing image 3 of 10 of the Lightning pictures on gamesradar. On the topic of the media library I can't help but tell you that when you get linked to the library form the news page you have to click "Read More".

Great to see the new lightning. Was a bit worried that a redone version would disappoint but the PS team pulled through. Great job guys!

Also, loving the customized VS HA look. Nice to see the old pulsar in there too. Maybe we get to buy it in the shop to use.

To me it looks very sports-coupe-ish. Something that traditionally comes with a long hood and fairly far back seating position.
Seeing as how it's supposed to be the fast tank, I wouldn't be surprised if that was an influence, subconsciously or otherwise.

To give a small sample.
