Copper conducts heat better than aluminium, which you could consider a form of diffusion. But it's not really "more" heat diffused, it's a faster rate of diffusion. A critical distinction.
If we assume the CPU is constantly emitting some amount of heat, say 100W, all of that heat will get out regardless of the heat sink type. A CPU at 50C will put out 100W, one at 70C will put out 100W (This isn't actually true, but in a 20C range, it's fairly close). The differences will be in CPU/Sink temperatures, not the amount of heat emitted.
You see temperature difference is the driving force for heat transfer. That means for a piece of Al to move the same amount of heat as a piece of Cu the temperature difference across the piece of Al has to be larger than the one across the Cu.
It also means a higher air-exposed surface temperature in the copper, which leads to higher transfer rate of heat to the air.

There's an example I can give that uses a can being filled water which has a hole in the bottom, if you want an analogy. (bigger hole [conductivity] = lower water level [temperature]) even though the filling rate stays the same)

Personally having had one of the older Zalman "flower-style" sinks, before they went to heat pipes, I loved it. Super quiet. I've just used the OEM sink on my i5.
I'm interested to know how loud that water cooling kit is. I've been thinking about going and building my own simple kit for just the CPU, perhaps even the video card. It's hard to figure out how much cooling you really need. I might end up with a more passive kind of system and essentially replace one wall of my case with a radiator.

I have the OEM cooler on my 2500k, I am thinking about seeing what kind of OC I can get with it.

And I will never go liquid cooling. Looks like way too much effort when all I have to do is clean the filters from time to time.

Goku, I thought you said OEM doesn't come with stock cooler?

CPU : 15-2500 k
Motherboard : asus P8p67 Evo
Solid State HD for speed
Big HDD for storage, like 1TB
PSU : any good psu over 700 watts
CPU cooler : U have a lots of options but many cpu collers have enough power for a 4.5 to 4.8 ghz overclock
PC Case : Coller master HAF 922
RAM : Gskill snipers or ripjaws ddr3 1600

Dont buy a to expensive MB its a lost of money also try to find thing like PSU on sale but the HAF coller master case series are the best (( stock )) tower ever made for gaming at a very cheap price around 80 to 100 us $ just make sure ur MB suport SLI and try to find one at 180 US $ and less

focus on the most important i mean Memory GPU CPU and Colling the HAF is a very cool tower with 220 mm very quiet fans and u can also had other fans at 10 $ each max

Totally depends on the design. A crappy design isn't going to be made up by copper.

Even overclocked with a 2600K and GTX 680 the system pulls under 400W. You generally want a PSU that has a good amount of room wattage wise to not overload it. A 650W will give you plenty of expansion in the future as well. Especially if the graphics cards get power hungry again next gen or two.

Very nice. Its a unique cooler. My brother has one and its great. I'm probably going to get the H80 next time it goes on sale.

OEM CPUs do not come with stock coolers. I think Knocky is referring to OEM as a stock cooler. The reason the 2500K you have is cheaper is due to not having a heastsink/fan with it.

Yeah, mine came with a cooler....thankfully since my CPU cooler didnt have an adapter for the new z68 board.

No...the new version of it has the adapters for the 1155 and the 775 socket.

When I bought the cooler...the 1155 did not exist. So I dont have the backplate adapter.
