A bit worried about it since my old account died and I could never recover it even with SOE's help (can't blame them for it, it was just a bunch of bad coincidences). Made a new account and bought the game again back in January out of curiosity for how it was these days but never ended up paying a monthly sub after that.

I asked on twitter if I was still good about 8 times but was ignored, guess I'll just trust that things will work out after reading through this thread. I was so damn tense earlier though... Whole thing has been a huge headache.

I'm curious, what will the scale of the closed beta test be?

I'm sure there are a lot of PlanetSide vets like myself that are falling over themselves in order to get into beta. Would the closed beta still be effective if thousands of people were involved?

Presumably they still want thousands of people involved at some point in the closed beta (since that's what the load is going to be come launch). Thousands will be involved... tens of thousands, maybe not so much.

They might have to see if they can handle multiple servers at once with maximum capacity, which means that might need tens of thousands

Or not. Now that Beta is now not 'soon' but 'next few weeks' i am somewhat sad that i missed my chances on getting beta keys

But i could get lucky, like i did for Black Prophecy, too bad that game went down like a lead balloon on a planet with stronger gravity then Earth.

Am I being dim or is the beta keys not on the PS2 Facebook page anymore?

I've hopped on the page every half hour 3-4 times and there doesn't appear to be anything obvious for the beta key giveaway?

As long as you've got a PS1 account attached to the same account you'll use for PS2, you'll get taken care of. I managed to snag one of the priority keys on twitter last night, but I assume the original PS1 players will get in either first or top of the list.

I think we don't even get keys. It will just automatically get activated on our account:

Everyone who has ever subscribed to Planetside 1. You don't necessarily need to have an active Planetside 1 subscription afaik.

Yarp, I only played for about a year back in 2003 then another couple weeks when that cave expac whatever it was called came out. I figure current subscribers or those that were subbing since before this month will likely get in first, but everyone else that owns a copy of PS1 will likely not be far behind them.

Or they could do it a simpler way and just begin the invites based when your ps1 copy got registered with their database.

Or a combination of the both.

Either way if you own the game you're good to go.

I'm curious why they are giving out so many beta keys. This aren't just normal beta keys right and come after the pc gamer ones?

If from everything i hearing they are going to be starting a massive closed beta.
