Hello all!
Okay, I've been wondering one question and the closest I came to an answer was a quote from Hamma. Does anyone think that game voice, Team speak, Battlecom, etc will be used in Planetside? Not that I'm a terrible typist, but,it would be much easier to just speak rather than stop & start typing what plans/orders that you want the team to carry out. You would save a hell of alot of time by using voice....not saying that a whole empire would use the same voice programs, but you could at least save time talking to your own outfit!

There's not going to be anything built in like there was in T2 (thank god, the T2 voice com sucked), but 3rd party programs should work just fine.
The Dev's can't come out and say "Sure Planetside will have support for TeamSpeak" because if they do, and there is a problem people will be looking to them to make it work when it's really up to the TeamSpeak people to make it work. So to answer your question the rumor mill says yes, we will never hear anything official about it, so we won't know until the game comes out for sure. |

I thought you might..but someone was saying that they doubt it would work, because game voice didn't work in EQ. I'm hoping anyway, either that or I will have to go to my back up plan, everyone in our outfit will be using nextels(with the walkie talkie feature) you get unlimited talk time with it! LMAO

I agree wholeheartedly. When typing, you're sure as hell not attacking or doing anything other than standing still and putting a target over your head (unless there's an auto-run button. )
I know because I play NS. The game of Teamwork and lag. You know why I lose sometimes? Because of lag. Grrr... I really need to talk to my cable service provider. It's ludicrous to have this slow of a speed. But enough of me and my technical problems. I will use Teamspeak most likely, unless everyone else uses something else.

yeah chia has got me in the habit of that as well
but before that i just got really good at typing fast. my favorite thing to do was pub cap in t2 and as i flew away with the flag i would always say something to them as i was skiing. most just to embarrass the defenders, b/c they know that not only was i able to grab their flag and get away with it, but type "thanks for the flag buddies" at the same time. they must feel like shit |

I think you're misunderstanding. Voice communication means that you, at your computer with a microphone, can talk into said microphone and (depending on the software) people you want to hear your voice hear it. In Half-Life games, your entire team hears what you say when you want them to. For PS, it'd probably be limited to your squad hearing it. That's what voice communication is.
