I'm for it, but pls remove XP-spam!
It's ok if you see your shots connect, but confirming kills with a popup text message is dumb. Maybe an automatic voice effect (only heard by the player who scored) like "Kill confirmed!" or "Target down!" or similar would serve this cause. |

I didn't say a skilled player could tell if netcode is functioning properly, just, possibly that they are getting hits or not. BF3 has shown that it might actually be possible for the netcode to give you undeserved hits, usually we think of netcode taking away hits, lol. |

In a game where there's potentially dozens of people shooting at me simultaneously, I'd like to know right off the bat if I hit what I was shooting at. I'm dead if I sit there and wonder if I hit the guy and the other 11+ people firing my way probably want to know if they hit me too.
I also feel like removing DDMs might slow down gameplay as well, although that's kind of just an after thought with no real support to back the statement up so. |

I don't really care either way. I like hit markers, but it gets rid of some strategy.
I like to be sneaky, but if someone uses an explosive in the room I'm hiding in, it sets off a hit marker and they know I'm there. It's more fun for both me and the attacker (fun for the attacker because it creates a challenge) if there aren't hit markers. Of course, that's just one situation, and I could deal with it if they put the markers in. |

I'm all for hitmarkers as a confirmation that you're hitting your target.
However, they shouldn't be given to spam weapons, AKA grenade launchers, grenades, etc. One major flaw in PS1 was giving Thumpers a hit marker. Their should be no information given to the player that spams their Thumper that they're hitting something. It just leads to more mindless spam. The Maelstrom was another spam weapon, yet it did not get a hit marker when you hit your enemy. Perhaps it was the way that the crosshairs were designed for that weapon. In fact, all of the cave weapons didn't display a hitmarker when you hit something. But still, I think that's a great way to cut back on spam. If you just lob nade after nade around the corner and you know you're hitting something, you'll just continue to spam. Doesn't really make for very compelling gameplay in my eyes. |

AoE weapons = No hit marker.
Everything else = hit marker. That's how I'd like it. I can't stand "shooting someone 1,230 times" and them not dying only to find out I wasn't hitting them because of bullet drop, follow through shots etc. I want to learn from my shooting so I don't have to rely on looking at the marker when I'm shooting something. Make sense? |
