I doubt that they would give an advanced warning of a negative announcement like the beta/release being later than they expected. When it's that kinda news they usually just hit you with it out of nowhere.

I hope not. Beta's have a tendency to bring problems into the light and having an ever pressing deadline has certainly resulted in more than one unsuccesful launch.
