A) He needs the id for other stuff...like a fucking job!!...and College. B) I dont and I dont think it is worth that, but that is how much the lawyer is going to cost to straighten the shit out. |

They wanted my social. Name. DOB. Etc. The percentage of college students without photo ID(Except their College ID) is high enough to cause concern. This may be of interest to some. http://www4.uwm.edu/eti/2007/VoterID.htm |

You mean tragic that people were filled with so much fear they couldn't make rational decisions? You can't appeal to emotions or some McCarthyism level fear tactics. "You can't do that because it's communist" doesn't hold water nowadays and most rational people see right through that.
I personally have been for a national ID system at the federal level for a long time. Currently we use a SSN which has been abused drastically for things it shouldn't be used for. The idea that you have to hide a number for security reasons in the modern age is preposterous. Implementing a real national ID though would cost a lot of money, but would be invaluable. Kind of wish I could be part of the group that designs it.

If you know anybody that works in the Government, they have a CAC card...or smartcard. You could easily make that into an actual ID. More over...you can make it a single purpose all level access kind of ID. Scan it to vote. Cop scans it for drivers license ID. EMT could scan it to get messages of Allergies or current medications as was put on there when you went to the doctor and pharmacy. The biggest opposition to it....666. |

DJ Eclipse, conspiring against communism since 19... 45?
Do you really think IDs are communist? Really? I mean, really? You think passes that prove your identity have not existed for eons till those darn commies invented them? You need to check your conspiracy database or simply upgrade to version 2.0.12... |

Voter ID laws are just ineffective and almost certainly are intended to suppress democrat voters. The only way voter impersonation could influence elections is by having a large group of hundreds to thousands of people coordinating themselves and then you're going into nutty conspiracy territory.

Which is why Reps have deliberately been calling anything they didn't like "communist", even if it has nothing to do with it. They knew it would rally the mobs (particularly the religious right) against whatever and whoever was insinuated to be "communist". Sorry Eclipse, but you're talking out of your arse. Napoleon introduced last names to the world as well as ID cards. You calling Emperor Napoleon a communist? |

My big thing...in addition to the fact that there is not widespread voting fraud...is the unfair state decisions of which IDs are acceptable...and the fact there are fees to get the IDs that are acceptable. |

Driver's license costs around 200 euro (primarily due to cost of examinator, driving instructor already costs around 3000 to 6000 euro depending on the amount of lessons you need, typically 30-45 euros per hour). If it's a Federal election, then I'd say any pass the federal government recognises, not? State's should have nothing to say over that. |
