And here i thought the game is dying. or is it? i mean my plan was to stop playing the game and get back in when Hossin is released, so i started playing BF4 (7 months ago) and was waiting meanwhile for PS2 updates but never happened, now this happens. someone could enlighten me why are the updates for PS2 on pc so fucking slow? is it because of the PS4 release? or whats happening now? when will be hossin released? i want to get back to PS2 xd

They're a small team working on PS2 when you consider 'other' big-name AAA games. Games like GTA5 are made with over two hundred workers and several years of work before anyone even sees it. PS2 has only forty or so on staff, with half likely in support/service roles.

The hope is that the PS4 will help get PlanetSide 2 a financial kick from headquarters, and otherwise that we get some freebies like the volumetric clouds from the other Forgelight games (H1Z1, Landmark).

One thing I'm thinking they'll have to fix in H1Z1 is vehicles flipping over and promptly exploding. If that gets fixed in H1Z1, maybe PS2 will get some lovin'! Just have a "Hold E" action when a vehicle is flipped that will respawn it standing straight up.

well, yeah, since 2012....

I think weather is not important, continents are and the gameplay around it...

And mind the "s" in continents, Hossin is not enough...

Having said that, i enjoy the game very much, rain or shine

Hossin was released yesterday, along with the first pass of continent locking.

I don't disagree it's just that maybe weather and water and such are engine upgrades that all related games benefit from and are done by a central 'engine infrastructure' team whereas continent creation are done by the PS2 team.

Now if that central team can upgrade the engine enough so that player studio can include base creation then we'll be cooking on gas.

PS1 had it where it rained in towers at times. And of course there's the few towers with a basement below water level... ^_^

v-n-p (We need a plumber!)

Fun times.

As for the weather, it's a good thing to add certainly. Not only will it improve dogfighting skill need (which I'm sure the expert pilots will love), it might provide cover both ways.

Both ways as in it might disrupt thermal imaging (clouds and water are cold) or force Liberators to fly below cloud level at times to get a shot, low enough to get a decent amount of fire on them without being able to escape as easily, etc. (Although it's not exactly hard to now).

Personally I'm mostly curious for a water surface update and amphibious combat. My Thunderer is rusting in its PS1 hangar. I presume there currently is little need for it, but I would say it's a rather important strategic and level building thing. Maybe then the Magriders can finally be reduced a bit in HP in comparison to the other MBTs since they'll have so many movement advantages.

i hope they raise the flight ceiling so you can dog fight above the clouds and also do Gal runs out of sight unless outfits are running patrols. would be cool if bad weather messed up lock on weapons and radar etc.

also i think this is possible due to H1Z1 so any advancements int he engine due to other games utilizing it is awesome.

cant wait to this and other stuff to be put in game.

How the hell can you be playing a broken BF4 for 7 months and complain about the lack of updates for PS2 lol?

Weather and other changes are welcome in my book. Again there is NO OTHER FPS out there even attempting to push past the COD envelope let alone have 3 factions, massive environments, thousands of players, & maintain constant updates.

I think there are quite a few people who can't see the forest through the trees.

The problem is that since the game is officially out of beta, we want it all.

The game is very much still under basic construction.

Yeah, if you think of it as still being in Beta you find yourself enjoying it more. PS4 release will basically be its official release.
