PS1 CR5 backpack as a vet reward?

I would love to carry my backpack over to PS2; but I agree there should be at least some sort of cosmetic item that every vet of Planetside gets ... And there probably will be.

Well I don't think anyone is suggesting an Exp boost or anything like that. And veterans are already going to have the advantage just by their experience with PS1. And thats not even counting the many PS1 outfits that will transfer over and begin their plots for world domination while all the real noobies are still deciding between zebra or giraffe camos for their guns.

In all backpacks would just show everyone else that yes, this person knows what they're doing. Flock around them/run the hell away.

I played in '06 and find that Veteran rewards don't really do anything for me, I just want to play the new game.

It is as simple as: I payed to play their game.

We had a deal and I'm not 'owed' anything, I'm not 'entitled' to anything, I don't 'deserve' anything.

Stop wasting the Devs time with MeMe handgrabs and let them focus on the new game.

I really think a lot of people on this forum has a Epeen problem. You know what you get for being a vet? Priority beta status for PS2. Stop asking to the devs to baby you guys so what your played PS1 that doesnt mean you get to have free items created just for you.

The whole game is about selling "MeMe handgrabs", so I dont think the devs will be overly burdened by making one set more.

And while we are not owed anything, some companies like to say "Thank you for being a loyal customer".

As for the backback, I dont like the idea. They were ugly in the first place, and hints of a rank you dont have.
I would much rather have a skin that makes your armour look like it has been through a decade of warfare.

There wouldn't be any PS2 without the dedication of the PS1 community. Their (our!) continued passion for the game even years after it's prime is what convinced SOE to produce PS2.

I don't think it hurts anyone for SOE to show their appreciation for that with something in-game that shows off the player's dedication to the franchise.

And, frankly, you sound bitter. Afraid someone's epeen might be longer than yours?

Actually, a freebie aesthetic item wouldn't be so bad but reserving PS1 guild/character names would definitely cross the line.

Pat yourselves all you want for encouraging a PlanetSide sequel but you'll have next to nothing to do with it's success, that will be in the hands of new players who pay the bills. SOE should know better than offend and discourage them by pandering to a minority of shaky-handed old has-beens
