I really like the new mcg sound. it sounds much more powerful now. they should do the same to the MAX chaingun sounds.

Did they finally improve FPS? Last game update, I got into battles with only 5 FPS instead of the usual 15 FPS. I think it's fixed now. :sarcasm:

Well, on this update I notice.
The green laser of the claymore can be used to signal everyone on the base where the claymore is.
It is no longer possible to kill a normal person with it.
The green laser is so strong that the mine cuts the enemy legs so it can low on his face!
Most of my outfit members still don't believe the enemy can see those green lasers... They think it is too much stupid from Sony.
But today I saw 3 flashing lights on the capture point of a base, I called most my outfit members to see it.
I really don't know anymore if that is a proximity mine or some strobes from a disco.
No really, you can see those light from a mosquito!
Since gu 11 I didn't die to any mines, looks like people stopped using then, because now they are ridiculous.
I still haven't met the bouncing Betty, but I know Higby, it must be the last stealth mine in the game.

Today I confirmed it.
The claymore got two green signal lasers that can be seen from outer space.
The proximity mine got 3 strobing lights that can be seen by anyone.
The bouncing Betty got nothing.

Sigh... why do they do this? With the issues around resources, why would we bother spending resources on mines with neon lights all over them?

The bouncing betty got a roughly circular pulsating "strobing light", so I wonder what exactly you were confirming.

I didn't see it.
On gu 09 the bb received a small light on the top of it, very discrete.

Today I checked all three mines on the ground, using friends accounts.
I even took screenshots. Not uploaded yet.
The green laser on the claymore are much stronger now.
The proximity mine got 3 strobing lights.
The bb still got the same small light on it, not even close to the claymore or proximity got on gu 11 that can be seen from miles away. Now before hot dropping my squad I check for enemy proximity mines from up 300 m away. That can't be done with the bouncing Betty.
Since gu 11 I didn't die to proximity mines, but today I died twice to bouncing Betty.
I will upload the screenshots as soon as I can.

The bouncing betty light is pretty damn visible pal, not sure what to tell ya. It pulses really brightly.
Im more pissed bout the infiltrator friendly empire specific colors. Absolutely impossible to play an inf atm due to it.

No dude, it don´t.
Playing on standart high quality graphics, the BB are not even closely visible as the Claymore (the most visible) or the Proximity mine.
Soon I will place pictures here, I just hope you guys don´t claim I took those pictures while the mine was not flashing or I will send you all into oblivion (not really).

Not everyone has seen this, so it's not something they can "fix". Performance updates go into every patch really.

why don't they remove them green trip wires on claymores and replace them with little lights like the vanu ones. Claymores stand out to me so much they might as well play some happy hardcore over proximity chat as i get close to them.

I would rather they keep the lights and make it fair across the board and give the TR a version of the Bouncing Betty/Proximity Mine and remove the Claymore from the game.

Whoever designed and made the final decision on the Claymore had to know that there would be backlash from the TR players claiming unfairness by giving two out of the three empires a nearly unnoticeable insta-death tool.

Give the TR their own version so they can enjoy the spoils of cheap kills and call it a day.

Adding lights to the Bouncing Betty/Proximity Mines is nowhere near as noticeable versus the neon lime green lights that shoot out of the Claymore currently. They even made it brighter after this last patch.

the mines are big enough to be seen. they don´t need any disco effects. none of them!

the discrete blinking lights were ok, but the lasers on tr mines were always too visible.

i would vote for giving the tr a normal ai mine like the other factions have, and introduce another mine type: the half life laser mine.
everybody who played half life should know what i am talking about.

it is a tripwire mine with a laser "tripwire" that can be placed on every surface.
meaning ground, walls, ceilings or even vehicles.
the mine emitts a laser (always straight from the lense) and if the laser hits any movement, the mine goes off.
so you can put it on the side of a abondoned tank, and when the driver comes back and doesn´t notice the mine, it will blow up the second he moves the tank with the mine attatched. just like c4 but with an automated ambush trigger.

but the lasers on that mines need to be faction colored if the mines are iff. and not too visible.
