How to find Squad Leader on continent Map?

I have been playing PS2 solo for some time and recently started going into public squads.

There is one thing i am struggling with and that is finding the Squad Leader on the big continent map when he respawns somewhere far on the continent and i dont catch the info from the voice chat.

I would like to be able to visually find him on the continent map without having to ask in chat/voice every time i mishear.

Is there some way i can locate the Squad Leaders location without having to zoom into every zone/hex on the continent one by one?

Isn't the idea to make locating Squad Leader somewhat difficult though?

A waypoint should display on your HUD (a huge arrow in the distance as you gaze around) as well as on the map itself.
If there isn't one, request one from your squad or platoon leader. If you don't get a response, abandon that squad and join another.
