Do you think they fixed the G2A rocket bug with this maintenance?

An NS rocket launcher that can lock on to all vehicles but can't dumbfire I guess.

Re: New Rocketlauncher - Annihilator?

According to the post, it locks onto air and ground but requires a lock to fire. Betting it does less damage than the other two lock-on weapons or has a slower traveling missile or a slower lock-on time. If it doesn't have any of those then it's a broken weapon that makes ground/air lock-on launchers irrational purchases which it may do anyway.

I'm confused as to why this exists.. aren't the empire specific missile launchers only supposed to fire on a lock now?

No, I think they decided not to do that. Instead they made the dumbfire for my G2A rockets have more drop and less speed.

Did they give Dumb Fire back to them?
That would be a nice advantage if the Grounder did more damage to Air and the Anti-tank Launcher did more damage to armor...

Ah!
So you can dumb fire them... wonder what the Lock-on fire differences are between the Anni and the specialized Launchers?

This seems like the dumbest thing they have added thus far.

You know the stats and behavior of it?

They all still dumb fire. AFAIK.

This weapon does not dumbfire and has slightly lower damage.

Re: New Rocketlauncher - Annihilator?

it removes the anti infantry ability of the current launchers in trade for the ability to lock onto vehicles. So we now have the following launchers:
Dumb fire
AI/AA
AI/AV
AA/AV

I'm guessing this was done to round things out and fill a hole more than actually fill any ingame need.

Re: New Rocketlauncher - Annihilator?

Well... it's true that the AA rocket does dumbfire... and I haven't tried dumbfiring with the AV version.. although I know it works too.. but if you haven't dumbfired with the AA version lately then please do so and come report your findings.

If you are too lazy or don't own it then here is what you will see. Firing at anything beyond maybe 30m and it drops like a stone into the ground. It's impractical to try to dumbfire targets at range now.. especially armor.

The default launcher and Decimator have much better dumbfire capability now as far as arc is concerned.. at least compared to the AA version. So really the new launcher combines AV and AA.. without dumbfire, which dumbfire is terrible now anyway.. so I might get the Annihilator launcher just so I can lock on both sets of vehicles now. That's mostly what I use the launcher for anyway and it would be nice as a convenience thing to not have to switch launchers for different vehicles at the cost of no dumbfiring at all.

Less situational, better utility, less damage. Not sure what the fuss is about.

Sounds good to me, good for air and ground but wont let you dumbfire which is good trade off really. Losing the ability for HA to take on MAXes puts you in a dilemma really.
