Wanting to get into PC gaming.

Hello all I was wondering if anyone could help me.
Is it possible for this; http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/INTEL-Cor...t_16770wt_1140 to run Planetside 2, if not what upgrades do you recommend? Keeping in mind that I would only really like to spend maybe $200 more on getting a new pc.

If you know of a computer that can run PS2 from anywhere else (that I don't have to build) that is less than $800 that would be nice too. I understand this might be a stupid question for you guys, but I don't have a really extensive knowledge on these things.

Not unless they include a video card. Also, I wouldn't ever buy a built computer off ebay, just build your own or have a friend do it. Its super easy.

i personally would not buy that, because, well it is on ebay... you are better off with custom builds, cheaper and better.

those are the parts only, remember you'll still need a case, a hard drive, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers. and keep in mind you need an OS such as windows 7.

Your links didn't work properly for me camy, but that's fine I can figure it out by the names. Since I live in Australia the postage may be an issue. But I like your idea Camy, it's much cheaper than what I was looking at which is always a bonus. Thankyou very much guys for the fast replies. I guess I can find tutorials and such on how to actually build it if I can't get any help. Can I get any suggestions for a cheap case that would work?

I'd imagine there'd be a computer shop somewhere near you that'd do builds for a fee, which should still work out a load cheaper than buying a pre-built. If you're willing to build it yourself though (honestly, it's not that hard. Grounding yourself and installing the motherboard standoffs hold the only real potential for fuck-ups), check out the guides by Newegg and Carey Holzman.

Fractal Design 3000
Zalman Z9 (or Z9 Plus)
Zalman Z11 (or Z11 Plus)

Those are all decent cases, so whichever you find cheapest should be fine, though I'd say the Fractal Design one is probably the best one there if it isn't too expensive in Oz (it's also probably the quietest).

I have one more question; I have another computer at home the case is 2 years old at the most, if I stripped the components out of that would it be fine to put these new ones in?

Depends on the case. Assuming it accommodates ATX motherboards and has a couple of fans, it should be alright. Can you find what model it is, or maybe post a picture of it?

I wouldn't be surprised if the one you currently have is better than that. If you searched any of the cases I recommended earlier, you'll notice they range from around $50 to $70. I really wouldn't go any lower than the Asgard ($35). There's also the Cougar Solution, Bitfenix Merc, NZXT Source 210 and NZXT Gamma which are all slightly cheaper than the cases I posted above, but I'd only really consider the Xigmatek Asgard or the Bitfenix Merc at prices that low...
