Outfits - Can they level up or something?

Hi, I'm new to Planetside and was wondering if outfits could level up somehow or another to distinguish which outfits contribute more towards a factions success? Don't know if that makes sense but basically wondering if some veteran outfits could garner more recongnition in the game than new ones. Thank you.

Recognition? It's called being seen doing something useful more than once a month. Statistical greatness isn't greatness. So even if there will be outfits leveling to 40 and such, War Machine will do what it does regardless, kill the red dots and move the front.

Yes that is true. So if i'm reading your answer correctly does that mean there is no way to distinguish between more experienced factions than newer ones?

to distinguish a good outfit from a bad would likely be the amount of players, skill of the players, how often you see them and where. as for rankings/levels, i dont think they are or will be added.

I have to agree that you remember the outfits that get things done and it has nothing to do with scoreboards.

There were friendly outfits we would make a point of forming up with when we saw them in the area and Oh Shit moments when we would realize certain enemy outfits just hit the fight.

The original did have a Outfit point system, but it was never used for anything. No idea if the new version will have any outfit level advancement.
