'Realism' is a poor choice of words. 'Better flight controls' would be a more accurate statement

hehe. i guess it would be alright to implement....kinda like in Starfox...

all i ever did in that game was fly around like a drunken sparrow and barrel roll the entire game

Better flight controls would be better wors to use but realism still makes sense since it is realistic to be able to do a barrel roll and it is unrealistic not to be able to.

Hard for sci-fi games to be "real" since everything is pretty much made up anyways.

I like the flight model in BF1942. I could do a bunch of aerial manuevers and plus, that was with World War 2 planes! Think about what you should be able to do in the future with more advanced aircraft.

actually that is a poor choice of words.

helicopters cant do barrel rolls. some fighter planes cant barrel roll. JETS can do barrel rolls.

it just depends on the technology available. certain vehicles are able to do certain manuevers...

and that should be replicated in game...imo

The flight model is helicopter-like. The vehicles themselves are definetly not rotary wing aircraft

Nothing is preventing these from having, say, little maneuvering thrusters that would roll them right on over.

now what would ROCK is if you could control how hard you thrust a wing....

so like you could put thtrust on the left wing and tilt and start to curve....

or you could slam it on and go into a deathspin

Too true... Of course, it deflected the majority of the projectiles being spewn at you though, so it served a purpose.

It wouldn't have a beneficial factor in PS unless they made it the same as in Starfox - which is bad, BAD! So let us scrap this idea totally. No more discussing, no more comparing, NONE. Just stop it and post on another thread.
