ARMA itself isn't doing the mods, outside coders are. But yeah, the gameplay variations are different mods.

DayZ is backed by Bohemia, actually. Rocket works for Bohemia, and they want to turn it into a Stand Alone game.

Well i know that, but mods like ACE or I44 are really great community backed ones, and also PR.
