Probably a stupid question but how does the medic heal themselves? I see people running around sticking needles into themselves but could not find out how to get them?

As a medic, you can heal yourself and those around you by pressing F, but what you mean are probably the health injectors which you have to unlock with cert points.

you can also use a healing grenade, also an unlock, but those are obscenely expensive, 200 catalysts, IIRC
