I stopped watching when he claimed the "global cooling" myth. A couple of debunked papers and a hysterical press does not a scientific consensus make. Already shows how much effort he put into that video: none.

If you continued to watch after the global cooling part you would have seen he then referenced Global warming and how we now call it "Climate change" because both warming and cooling have been shown to be big piles of crap.

In the 70's people taught about global cooling and how Man's industry was to blame. Then we make the same claim about global warming. And now it's "climate change" - that way we can safely refer to any change in weather as being caused by man.

The video isn't claiming global cooling, or global warming. It's mocking the idiocy that has been crippling our economies for decades on the premise of global warming/cooling/climate change, all while other countries move ahead of us in industry because we gimped ourselves.

It's an outright lie to say that Scientists agreed in the 70's that the earth was cooling.

And warming is the global trend, every reputable climate science group agrees with that.

Seems exaggerated. Not sure what point it's trying to make. We've been telling kids to respect the environment for a long time. Sustainability is key while looking for alternatives. I'm not sure what that video is advocating that isn't already being implemented. To me this is separate from global warming - which I don't really care much about. If you want to just make quick gains you can drill up all the oil, though there's no real backing that drilling lowers prices or helps anyone other than the oil industry which is already flourishing. I'm surprised that video didn't mention nuclear which (along with thorium reactor research) is a strong direction to energy independence rather than toying with transient energy sources. That and I get a strong "this was funded by oil lobbyists" vibe from that video that they're trying to stifle investments in other technologies.

To make this clear it's important to look as energy as a grayscale. You can get energy from tons of sources without creating a single point of failure.

You realize I replied to the contents of the video right? You sound like someone who readily believes what they're told and only requires quick pieces of information and buzzwords to lock onto. That's fine if you are, but it makes you sound ignorant if you really think that video is targeting an actual problem that exists. If I was an oil company that's the kind of video I would make since it gives the intended audience an emotional attachment to the argument even if it's a red herring for a non-problem. Either that or it's advocating we no longer stress environmentalism in schools. You'd fit into the Ron Paul camp in eliminating the EPA and other "regulations" that hold back the oil industry. I mean they can't profit if we keep holding them responsible at the federal level.

I didn't mean offense. I meant that you were ill-informed about the topic. It was a suggestion to read up on the oil industry discussions. Read up on if drilling is slowing down or if gas and coal are being slowed at all by environmentalists. Also look up the current political discussion about drilling as a solution.
