NC look so bad compared to TR. They really need a helmet redesign.

I'm also a bit worried about this. Slapping a big white and red paint job onto the VS light assault helmet is going to look garish unless they can find a clever way of pulling it off. Same with the white fabric web gear. hopefully the VS medics will get special treatment. :P

Re: Terran Republic Medic Screenshots

We are seeing a lot of grey TR without much black/red, and I'm pretty sure that's intentional. In PS1 you started out grey as TR, similar to what you see in the medic pic. As you gained BR you got more red, and more black. By the higher BR ranks you were essentially entirely black & red.

Same goes for VS and NC. NC started out like blueberries in PS, without a spec of gold other than the logo. By the time you were high BR as an NC you were almost entirely gold with a little bit of blue. for VS they got more Teal in their colorations as they ranked up and started off pure purple.

I think this is the sort of thing the customization/tint options will provide. Perhaps you spend resources to buy the more black & red TR look. It could also be automatically unlocked as you gain BR just like PS1. If we're looking at BR1 models then that would explain why their coloration has a lot of grey/ dull colors.

I remember a quote awhile back, it might of been from the weapons podcast, were they stated engineers had carbines for close ranges and were expected to use their turrets for longer ranges.

We saw in the GDC video that 1) Higgles Light Assault and Engineer classes were using the Gauss Carbine, but his Medic was using a full size Gauss Carbine. So it doesnt feel like necessary any of the classes were forced into a certain type weapon. Or perhaps Medic has a bit less combat niches, so they were given a "better" rifle instead. That said, if the rifle was actually a bit better, why would Higlo have used a carbine over a full size rifle on his LA the whole video?

Medic is a class, light assault is a class, heavy assault (RExo) is a class. Those three things don't stack. But yes, at least from the looks of it, armorwise medics are much closer to LA than HA. The difference to LA probably is no jump packs and probably the differences in possible loadouts, such as medics getting medical applicator while LA doesnt, LA getting ammo box while medic doesnt, etc.

I have to agree. The bland coloring will entice us to buy tint packages from the cash shop.

So much better than the NC one. I agree that the NC desperately needs a helmet redesign.

I love the TR color palette, and the general design and texturing. Something about the breastplate bothers me though, it needs more thickness or depth.

Overall I'm content though, I plan to spend a lot of time as this class.
