Really don't get some of our community, in the beginning we ASKED for ps2 to be advertised better then planetside1 was now some of us are bitching about the money it cost to do the advertising?.

does anyone remeber the MW blackops/mw3 Tv spots?. I do it had average people and celebrities in it, and there pitch was that "theres a solider in all of us" I loved the tv ad. heres couple of the videos

I think it's great. We'll have tons of gameplay videos by launch and a CGI trailer like this really looks professional. It's not so much about showing people the game as saying "Look guys, this is a legit AAA game we have here, go check it out".

Now outsource a few really good gameplay trailers too and you'll be all set

You guys did a great job with the trailer! Really impressed that it was made with in-game assets as well!

Its mostly for attracting the general populace with fancy hype and marketing, yes. Any reasonably intelligent person will tell you that very little of the shown mechanics in that cgi trailer will ever be added to planetside 2, though. No fancy realistic mo'capped animations that conform to both situation and environment, no full 3d freedom of movement while preserving Newtonian motion during a jetpack maneuver, leaping out of planes will never involve a fluid running jump out of the back, and it will never have any form of grabbing onto vehicles as an infantry.

I thought it was spectacular, and so did my non-planetside-playing friends. Advertising more works. Keep it up.

Usually, well made CGI material is very well recieved and it can generate quite a buzz in the media. See Diablo and Diablo for a good example.

Also, it adds a finishing layer of "Big Game" to the name, instead of it being the follower to "that title I heard about but never played".

It was a well put together trailer,i enjoyed it, and it's great advertising.

But you need the trailer on the front page of big three, Gamespot, IGN and GT. I feel as publications are either losing their minds over this game or simply don''t care at all.
