Bad idea IMO - should not be introduced without a multitude of other tweaks, Counter Measures, Hot Drop Prevention.. etc etc.

I agree. When I talked to the developers at Fan-Faire, an ECM suite or chaff pod was a massively popular suggestion, and not just because of the Air-to-Air Mosquito.

It would be redundant, but just to make it clear to reavers, It could have rear anti missle sparks that make reaver rockets explode early without damaging the aircraft to make sure reaver rockets are stopped. Mannually released of course.

It could still take a little damage if they explode to close to the plane since the i think the rockets have explosive radius like most explosive and AV weaponry. But that would only add to the game experience.


And with the bailing issue. Why don't they make all non drop vehicles shoot the people in the plain upwards instead of dropping them. Then if they want to drop on a tower they can shoot buy the bottom of it at 180 miles per hour and hop up to the top giving people more time to deal with them and less of a chance to land on the middle roof section where they are safe. There are alot more dangers flying near surface; mines, people shooting at you, spits, not to mention people will know you are dropping when you have to fly past enemies to do it. And it will be a much more interesting experience.

Btw, I'm taking it the wasp turned out to be a small drop aircraft.

I think the problem with lack of whoring in the sky came from when they got rid of the limit on how high AA could reach to kill something. I still don't see why it's a problem to have to send a mossy to or reaver or two to stop a liberator.

I believe that it's an excellent idea. Air units need to fear something in the air. This will need some teaks no doubt. But it is long overdue. I'll cert it just to hunt those freakin reavorwhores!

Lock on must be attained and maintained for the missiles to track the target!
That sounds difficult but I still think it will just be the next Air Whore vehicle.

Well, we finally see what the dev team is doing about their promises since I read somewhere they intended to make the Mossie the primary means to hunt other planes...

It depends on what weapon it has. Is it purely the AA missiles, or does it have the nosegun as well? Also, does it need a lock to fire?

If it just has missiles, and it needs a lock to fire, there should be very few problems with it.
However, it may cause a drop in Gals and libs, as they get eaten alive by them.

Well maybe that do plan on some type of counter measure i.e. chaff or flares, but want to see what the game is going to play like with out them so they can then use that knowledge to design the counter measure to fit the problem.

I'm just playing devil's advocate, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Firstly: Don't knock anything before you try it.

The skeet was meant to be more agile then the reaver and be able to destroy it in an air fight. That definately isn't how it is in-game.

So far they haven't mentioned even having a chaingun on it, just the AA rocket. The rocket, as listed so far, is basically like a striker. You have to maintain a lock. The reload time is 2.5 seconds. Same as a cycler. So fire two rockets and keep the lock in air. If you've ever been in an intense dogfight, thats hard to do.
