Exploit concerns

Hi,

Does anyone know if there's 3rd person view? This would let people peek around corners without standing in the line of fire.

Anyone know if there will be free-cam control/observer mode? This would be a cheap and dirty method of spying on the enemy.

I'd say yes. Considering the actions of soldiers in some of the sceernshots where the soldier is walking one directin and looking another. This screenshot was quite posibly taken from a third person free look perspective.

There is no free cam/observer mode

There is however a 3rd person view.

aw, this is supposed to be an FPS, not a TPS. Although, I'm used to driving around in the third person, so I would like it then. I hope there aren't many people who will use it cheaply.

Thanks for those screens. I hope 3rd person isn't allowed travelling on foot. Think about all those cheap bastards hiding behind a pillar or a corner. Grrrr.. I don't mind it for vehicles tho.

Can you turn huds and cockpit controls off completly? I say this because i wanna do PS movies, with over head shots. I saw one screen shot from a misquito and the next the same thing with out the hud, is that photoshoped or an option in game?

If the 3rd person view is anything like on EQ then theres no way to look around corners, the camera clipped to what you can see.

3rd person shooters are much much better... the 270 degree view makes it easy to see anyone thats sneaking up on you, unless they're coming from directly behind. Some games are really stupid, they run up from a side tunnel and you can't even see them- by the time you do you've been blasted in the face with a shotgun.

Renegade works with 3rd or 1st, I suspect Planetside might be the same way. Its also much easier to manuever and fire vehicles at the same time, its a true art form to be driving 70 mph in a dune buggy and nail someone in the face with a rocket from across the field...funny too. Muhwhaha.
